Monkey in the Poppies

It’s Poppy Time In England Again

The poppies are in the bloom again (lush!), and unlike last year, this time I came prepared.  Jeans, wellie boots, long sleeves.  And I can now easily identify a stinging nettle.  I was even brave enough to put my child in the middle of them, his football kit totally in keeping with the color scheme.

Can’t work out which is best
I think pictures 3 and 5 have the edge on last year’s snaps – stupendous!
But picture 1 (curious?), picture 2 (cheeky-monkey?) or picture 4 (HERE I AM?) – amidst the scarlet!
    Decisions … Decisions …

Aren’t the poppies just glorious? This time last year I was finally starting to feel a bit more human (awful HG pregnancy) and so my husband and I went off for a drive in the country and ended up stopping near a poppy field and taking some shots of me and the bump in the poppy field. I had all plans to take Oscar out this year for photos of him in the field, but we never managed to make it between my husband’s shifts and all the rain. You’ve got some absolutely stunning photos though, how wonderful!!

Thanks for the comments. You’re right about the rain making it difficult this year. I think the day I shot these was one of our only dryish days in a month. Definitely give it another try next year!
