    I believe it was Ray Charles who started out imitating Nat King Cole. It took a while for him to prefect his distinctive Ray Charles persona. But wow! Inspired by Cole and yet totally himself.

    Thank you so much for linking to this. The photo of you is stunning – you have captured a winsome mood that feels timeless and provocative. I loved looking through Yousef Karsh’s work. I did not know the name either, but of course, his work is iconic and I recognised the photos. Yours is your very own, however much it was inspired by another. I continue to be amazed that you captured this remotely. Lovely, lovely, lovely.

      I’m so glad I’m not alone not knowing his name! How amazing is his work?? (photographer shame…). This was actually really fun but did take A LOT of shots to get the pose even remotely close to the original. Thanks so much for the lovely feedback. Why don’t you find a portrait that inspires you and try to copy it? You never know how amazing it might be! Love the self-timer!
